The Onitsha Drug Market (Ogbogwu Market) has partnered with the Anambra State Ministry of Health to conduct a five-day free medical outreach for its traders. The initiative, spearheaded by the market’s Caretaker Committee, provided screening for high blood pressure, diabetes, malaria, and eye conditions to over 3,000 traders. To ensure long-term health access, the market has also established an on-site, government-staffed clinic at its union office. The program, which utilized over 5 million naira worth of medication, aims to provide essential healthcare services to low-income traders who face barriers to traditional hospital access.
