The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has uncovered widespread, ongoing production of alcoholic beverages in sachets and PET bottles below 200ml, despite a federal ban. Director-General Mojisola Adeyeye confirmed that enforcement teams found active, illegal manufacturing operations in Lagos, Ogun, and other states, with some producers relocating to unregistered facilities to evade detection. The agency, which has faced physical resistance during raids, warned that all facilities found in violation will be shut down and products confiscated, as the ban is strictly enforced to curb alcohol abuse.
