CEPI Commits $8.5 Million to Accelerate Ebola Vaccine Development

The Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) has committed $8.5 million to accelerate the production of a vaccine candidate for the Bundibugyo strain of Ebola. This funding supports a collaboration with Hilleman Laboratories to manufacture doses for clinical trials. The initiative addresses the current outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, now the second-deadliest in history, as there are currently no approved vaccines or treatments for this specific strain.
