Nigeria Partners with China to Boost Agricultural Exports and Tech Transfer

Nigeria is leveraging China’s zero-tariff policy, effective since May, to boost agricultural exports and modernize its agro-processing sector. The Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology plans to deepen collaboration with China to enhance the quality and value-addition of Nigerian commodities like sesame, ginger, and cashew nuts. Key initiatives include technology transfers for solar-powered cold storage, STEM training for Nigerian scientists, and the adoption of advanced agricultural techniques from China to improve productivity and reduce post-harvest losses.
