Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party has secured re-election as Governor of Osun State, defeating the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji. Adeleke polled 511,067 votes, winning 19 of the state’s 30 local government areas against Oyebamiji’s 444,815. The result is seen by analysts as a significant political signal ahead of the 2027 general elections, with opposition figures citing voter dissatisfaction with current economic conditions as a key factor in the outcome. Governor Adeleke noted that President Bola Tinubu has called to congratulate him on the victory.
