Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno has pledged to finalize the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility at the Victor Attah International Airport. During meetings with SAMCO Group Europe and Airbus in Montreal, the Governor also confirmed that Ibom Air is set to receive a new Airbus A220-300 aircraft. The state government aims to partner with SAMCO to operate the MRO facility, focusing on local capacity building and technical training to reduce reliance on overseas maintenance. Governor Eno emphasized that Ibom Air remains a vital strategic asset for the state’s economic and tourism growth.
