BOA Targets Gender Productivity Gap with Direct Agricultural Financing

The Bank of Agriculture (BOA) has launched a strategic initiative to bridge the gender productivity gap in Nigeria’s agricultural sector by providing direct input support and single-digit interest financing to female smallholder farmers. The program, which forms part of the bank’s broader N250 billion financing facility and a N1.5 trillion recapitalization drive, aims to integrate women into the formal value chain. By partnering with farm aggregation firms, the BOA is providing credit alongside mechanization, extension services, and guaranteed off-take agreements to minimize market risks and boost domestic food production.
