Nigeria’s Net FX Flow Drops 29% to $4.94 Billion in March

Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) data indicates that the nation’s net foreign exchange (FX) flow dropped to $4.94 billion in March 2026, marking a 29% decline from February’s $6.98 billion. This is the lowest monthly net flow recorded since December 2025. While total FX inflows into the economy for March stood at $10.49 billion, outflows surged to $5.54 billion. Notably, net FX flow through the CBN specifically turned negative at -$1.66 billion during the month, though total net flows remain 38% higher year-on-year compared to March 2025.
