Governor Ademola Adeleke has secured a second term as Governor of Osun State, pivoting his administration’s focus toward industrialization to reduce the state’s reliance on federal allocations. While Osun has seen a 162 percent increase in internally generated revenue (IGR) under his leadership, the state remains heavily dependent on Federation Account (FAAC) transfers. Analysts note that Adeleke’s success in this term will hinge on his ability to foster an investment-friendly climate for manufacturing and agro-processing, effectively transitioning the region from a civil service-dependent economy to an industrial hub. Although domestic debt has decreased by 46 percent since 2022, maintaining fiscal discipline while driving these infrastructure and economic reforms remains a key challenge.
