The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has suspended Uber and Bolt from operating within its airport terminals pending the finalization of new licensing agreements. The directive, which mandates that ride-hailing operators register on a new FAAN-designated digital booking application, has resulted in the exclusion of major e-hailing providers from airport premises. Consequently, passengers are experiencing significant transportation disruptions and fare hikes of over 50 percent as remaining conventional cab services face reduced competition. FAAN maintains that the move is intended to enhance security and improve revenue collection across its managed airports.
