The Jigawa State Government has initiated talks with the Egyptian firm EFC Plants to adopt advanced tissue culture technology for date palm and Irish potato production. Governor Umar Namadi, leading a delegation to Cairo, stated the goal is to secure a long-term partnership involving technology transfer, local capacity building, and private investment. By producing certified, disease-free plantlets locally, the state aims to boost agricultural productivity and establish itself as a national biotechnology hub.
