The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved the acquisition and deployment of two next-generation communication satellites, NIGCOMSAT-2A and NIGCOMSAT-2B. This initiative aims to bolster Nigeria’s satellite capacity, improving broadband internet, broadcasting, and critical communications for government and security. The project, overseen by Nigeria Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT), will provide coverage to underserved regions where terrestrial infrastructure is not viable. Partners Thales Alenia Space and Israel Aerospace Industries will handle manufacturing and delivery.
