The Federal Government, via the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), is creating a National Innovation Hub Standards Framework to standardize and improve the operations of over 339 innovation hubs nationwide. Director General Kashifu Inuwa stated the initiative aims to decentralize the innovation ecosystem, shifting support from just Lagos and Abuja to other states by helping hubs assess capabilities and address growth gaps. The government is also calling for increased private sector risk capital and stronger university-industry collaboration to ensure the long-term sustainability of the digital economy.
