The Centre for the Promotion of Private Enterprise (CPPE) has warned the Federal Government against reversing ongoing economic reforms, stating that such a move would destabilize the foreign exchange market and erode investor confidence. While acknowledging improvements in government revenue, GDP growth, and macroeconomic stability, the CPPE emphasized that these gains have yet to translate into lower operating costs or improved welfare for households. The advocacy group urged the government to shift its focus toward productivity by addressing structural constraints such as electricity supply, logistics, and high financing costs. Additionally, the CPPE called on state governments to ensure that increased fiscal allocations are directed toward tangible development rather than recurrent expenditure.
