These locally made units are significantly cheaper, easier to maintain, and help reduce post-harvest losses while empowering cottage industries. However, standardization and food-grade safety remain areas for improvement, with experts noting that the full operationalization of Ajaokuta Steel Company could further catalyze the mass production of precision components for the sector.
