The Oil and Gas Trainers Association of Nigeria (OGTAN) has signed a new manifesto to address the sector’s persistent human capital development gap. Unlike previous conferences, this agreement establishes time-bound, measurable commitments for regulators, universities, and oil companies. Key focus areas include skills training for energy transitions, such as gas-to-power and digital competencies, as well as strategies to retain institutional knowledge amid a significant brain drain of experienced professionals. OGTAN intends to use a new internal governance mechanism to track these industry-wide objectives.
