The Federal Ministry of Works is moving to terminate the contract for the Benin-Asaba road project due to the concessionaire’s alleged incompetence and failure to deliver value. Minister of Works David Umahi directed the immediate removal of road blockages and requested a formal measurement of completed works, excluding substandard repairs described as negative work. The ministry intends to oversee the reconstruction of affected sections to alleviate severe traffic congestion and public frustration.
