The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) has called on the federal and Lagos State governments to implement specific safeguards under the 2025 Tax Law to protect industrial competitiveness. Speaking at the 55th Annual General Meeting of the Apapa Branch, MAN President Francis Meshioye emphasized that while manufacturers support tax harmonization, the law must focus on reducing compliance costs rather than creating new financial burdens.

MAN’s recommendations include establishing a singular tax collection portal to replace multiple levies, declaring industrial clusters as "No-Tout Zones," and consolidating port-related charges. According to Olusegun Adesokan, Executive Secretary of the Joint Revenue Board, the new framework aims to move away from fragmented systems by consolidating over 100 taxes into nine revenue heads, banning cash payments, and eliminating illegal roadblocks. MAN leaders urged that the ultimate measure of the reform should be increased job creation and infrastructure development within industrial hubs.
