Mozambique Appoints New Central Bank Governor

Mozambican President Daniel Chapo has appointed Waldemar Fernando de Sousa as the new Governor of the Bank of Mozambique, ending the eight-year tenure of Rogerio Zandamela. Felisberto Dinis Navalha has been named Deputy Governor. The new leadership will be sworn in on September 2 in Maputo, taking charge of the country’s monetary policy, foreign exchange management, and financial sector stability.
