Nigeria’s telecommunications and information services sector grew by 10.38% in the second quarter of 2026, significantly outpacing the nation’s overall economic growth of 4.43%. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the sector contributed N5.20 trillion to real GDP, representing 9.72% of total economic output. This expansion is largely attributed to surging data consumption and sustained infrastructure investment by major players like MTN Nigeria and Airtel Nigeria, which have both reported strong financial growth for the period.
