IPMAN Decries Illegal Levies and Harassment in Anambra State

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) is calling on Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo to intervene against the persistent harassment of petroleum marketers by government agents. Despite a pre-agreed harmonized annual levy of 145,000 Naira per outlet, union leaders report that marketers are facing additional, questionable charges and illegal demand notices from state-appointed consultants. IPMAN officials warn that this unsustainable operating environment may force them to shut down operations in the state if the harassment by local authorities and state ministries continues.
