Rivers State Governor Signs N1.85trn 2026 Budget into Law

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has signed the state’s N1.854 trillion 2026 budget into law following its rapid approval by the State House of Assembly. The budget, titled the ‘Budget of Resilience for Growth and Development,’ includes N1.4 trillion for capital expenditure, with significant allocations for infrastructure, education, and healthcare. The swift legislative action follows a period of political impasse, with the Governor signaling a renewed focus on state progress and welfare. Financial sources for the budget include N936 billion from FAAC, N487.6 billion in internally generated revenue, and N382.5 billion in capital receipts.
