The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) is advancing its Quality Bus Corridor (QBC) project, an infrastructure initiative designed to modernize public transportation across Lagos. The project focuses on creating exclusive bus lanes, upgrading terminals, and implementing intelligent transport systems to reduce travel times by up to 50 percent. Currently, key phases including the Yaba-Cele and Ketu-Alapere corridors are nearing completion, with full operational status for the four planned corridors expected by the fourth quarter of 2026. The agency is also coordinating resettlement plans for affected stakeholders to ensure project compliance with international standards.
