Cashew nuts in shell emerged as the leading export at N268.62 billion, followed by standard quality cocoa beans at N154.31 billion and sesamum seeds at N96.03 billion. The quarter saw significant volatility in cocoa exports, with superior quality cocoa bean earnings dropping sharply from their first-quarter levels. Overall, the data reveals a high concentration of export earnings, with the top three commodities accounting for approximately 69.4% of total top-tier agricultural exports. This heavy reliance on a few crops underscores risks related to market price fluctuations and production volume changes.
