Ghana’s annual inflation rate climbed to 5.2 percent in September, marking its second consecutive monthly increase, up from 5.0 percent in August. Data from the Ghana Statistical Service indicates that while food inflation rose to 4.0 percent, non-food inflation—which accounts for nearly two-thirds of the total—eased to 6.2 percent. Government Statistician Alhassan Iddrisu noted that price pressures are increasingly driven by domestic goods and services rather than imported costs. Despite the uptick, inflation remains significantly lower than levels recorded a year ago.
