The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) estimates that the assets awarded in its 2025 oil licensing round could boost national crude oil reserves by 500 million barrels. Successful development of these blocks is projected to add at least 300,000 barrels per day of crude and condensate production within five years. This initiative aligns with Nigeria’s strategic goal to scale production to three million barrels per day by 2030, with the commission noting strong investor appetite in frontier basins beyond the traditional Niger Delta.
