Fortis Global Insurance Plc concluded the first nine months of 2026 as one of the Nigerian Exchange’s top performers, though its headline gains require nuance. While an unadjusted share price rise of 805% initially caught market attention, a 1-for-4 share reconstruction in June significantly adjusted the figures. When accounting for this capital restructuring, the actual year-to-date gain is 126.25%, moving the stock to 14th place among top performers. Despite the adjustment, the company still outperformed the NGX All-Share Index, which rose 61.43% in the same period. The firm’s performance coincided with a major capital restructuring involving N30 billion in convertible debt and strong revenue growth; however, H1 2026 financial results show a widened loss of N2.60 billion, highlighting that revenue increases have yet to drive profitability.
