Nigeria Maintains OPEC Compliance as Crude Output Hits 1.53 Million BPD

Nigeria’s crude oil production rose to 1.53 million barrels per day (bpd) in September, up from 1.50 million bpd in August. According to the latest OPEC monthly market report, Nigeria has now maintained compliance with its assigned production quota for five consecutive months. While quarterly production averaged 1.51 million bpd in Q3 2026, stakeholders anticipate further gains, with some projections eyeing 1.72 million bpd by the final quarter of the year. This growth trend occurs as OPEC simultaneously downgrades its global oil demand growth forecast for 2026.
