Chamberlain Peterside has been inaugurated as the fifth chairman of the Chartered Institute of Directors (CIoD) for the South-South and South-East zones of Nigeria. An accomplished economist and financial strategist, Peterside aims to elevate corporate governance standards to prevent institutional failures across both private and public sectors.
His strategic vision, termed VMM (Visibility, Membership, and Mentorship), focuses on recruiting senior public servants to foster better governance practices. A central component of his tenure is the proposed construction of a CIoD Tower in Port Harcourt, designed to serve as a resource and training center for corporate leaders. CIoD national president Adetunji Oyebanji emphasized that the institute’s members are critical to sanitizing Nigeria’s economic climate through stronger ethical frameworks and professional training.
