The Kogi State Government has implemented a technology-driven security framework to safeguard educational institutions across the state. The initiative includes the deployment of CCTV surveillance, enhanced perimeter fencing, and the use of trained, pensionable vigilance groups alongside conventional security agencies.

According to state officials, these measures have significantly bolstered security at institutions like the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH) and various secondary schools. Furthermore, the state government attributed its increased capacity for infrastructure and social investment to the fiscal benefits arising from the federal removal of the petrol subsidy. Officials also highlighted the establishment of the Barefoot Renewable Energy College, which aims to train specialists in solar and green hydrogen technologies.
