In two separate developments highlighting financial oversight challenges in Nigeria, former NSIPA National Coordinator Halima Shehu has alleged that 3 billion Naira in COVID-19 funds were disbursed without her authorization. Meanwhile, the House of Representatives is investigating the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC) over the alleged fraudulent appropriation of 1.32 billion Naira. The House has ordered the Inspector-General of Police to produce the organization’s self-styled Director-General, Adeyemi Adeniyi, to answer for suspected forgery and misrepresentation.
