SEC Expands Crypto Sandbox, Admits Three New Firms to ARIP

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has granted Approval-in-Principle (AIP) to three additional Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs), bringing the total number of participants in its Accelerated Regulatory Incubation Programme (ARIP) to 14.

The newly admitted firms are Pisi Payments Solution Limited, BC Access Nigeria Limited (Blockchain.com), and Yellow Card Financial Limited. The SEC emphasized that the AIP is not a final operating licence but a conditional authorization allowing these entities to operate within the regulatory sandbox as the commission develops a long-term framework for digital assets in Nigeria. This initiative aims to foster innovation while ensuring investor protection and market integrity.
