The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has destroyed over 329 tonnes of illicit drugs in Lagos with a street value of N301 billion. The narcotics, which included cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, and various opioids, were seized from various locations, including seaports and airports, between April 2025 and May 2026. The exercise, conducted at Navy Town in Lagos, followed court orders for the destruction of substances linked to concluded cases and abandoned seizures. NDLEA Chairman Mohamed Buba Marwa emphasized the agency’s commitment to dismantling criminal networks, noting the significant link between the drug trade and violent extremism.
