Consolidated Hallmark H1 Profit Soars on Investment Gains

Consolidated Hallmark Holdings Plc (CONHALLPLC) recorded a massive surge in its first-half 2026 performance, with profit after tax soaring by over 2,000% to N25.28 billion, up from N1.16 billion in the same period last year. This significant growth was primarily driven by a sharp rise in investment income, which hit N27.33 billion—boosted by N24.01 billion in net fair value gains on financial assets. Conversely, the company’s core insurance service result declined by nearly 20% to N2.61 billion, as higher reinsurance costs weighed on margins. Despite the strong bottom-line growth, operating cash generation slowed during the period, falling to N1.47 billion. The firm’s balance sheet expanded by 38% to N104.97 billion, with shareholders’ funds rising to N65.35 billion.
