Nestoil Group, through its subsidiary Scorpio Drilling International, has successfully deployed its Pathfinder 500 rig to OML 42, marking a major milestone for indigenous drilling capacity. The rig, acquired alongside the Scorpio 300 as part of a $28 million investment, was used to complete successful workover operations on the field. Notably, the entire project—from refurbishment to crewing—was executed by an all-Nigerian team. According to Chairman Ernest Obiejesi, this achievement reduces reliance on costly external rigs and prepares the group for a new in-field drilling program on the legacy asset.
