Data reveals N76.3 billion was disbursed between November 2023 and June 2026; however, progress remains bottlenecked by a lack of functional conversion centres and refuelling infrastructure. While the government targets one million vehicle conversions by 2027, fewer than 150,000 have been completed, with most facilities concentrated in Abuja and Lagos, leaving many states underserved. Industry experts cite slow infrastructure build-out, bureaucratic hurdles in funding, and supply chain constraints as key obstacles to the programme’s success.
