Direct commercial air travel between Lagos and Toronto is set to launch in the second quarter of 2027 following the expansion of a bilateral air transport agreement between Nigeria and Canada. The route permits up to 14 weekly passenger flights and 10 cargo flights, with Air Peace and United Nigeria designated as the local carriers. The initiative is expected to reduce travel time and logistics costs, aiming to further strengthen a bilateral trade relationship currently valued at $3 billion. Meanwhile, both nations continue negotiations on a Foreign Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement to enhance investor confidence.
