Champion Breweries has outperformed Nigeria’s FMCG sector in the first half of 2026, recording a 124.25 percent year-on-year revenue increase. Unlike its peers, who are struggling with slowing growth as inflationary price hikes become less effective, Champion’s expansion is driven by its acquisition of an 80 percent stake in EnjoyBev B.V. and the Bullet brand portfolio. This move has allowed the firm to diversify into energy drinks and Ready-To-Drink beverages while gaining access to 14 African markets, reducing reliance on the domestic beer segment. Analysts note that while the company faces higher financing costs, its transition toward a volume-led growth strategy via inorganic expansion offers a new model for the industry.
